As suggested by this answer, I would like to either delete the tag or merge it with . Can anyone make it ? (I don't have enough power/rights)

In particular, a glider is any aircraft designed primarily for unpowered flight. A sailplane, on the other hand, is a glider with conventional control surfaces.

I personally don't see how this can be interpreted to mean that glider and sailplane are synonyms.

    $\begingroup$ I also disagree with the proposed merge. Wikipedia considered and decided against a similar merge which im not saying we must follow, but is a useful data point. We also have a question right here on the difference - and being the answer was NOT that there is no difference, we should continue to distinguish the two. $\endgroup$
